“MANIA GRANDIOSA. Tallinnast Pariisi” on viieks päevaks üheksale modellile loodud maailma pikim moelava, kogupikkusega 100 kilomeetrit, alustades Tallinna Lennujaamast ning jõudes välja Pariisi külla, Lääne-Virumaal, mille ratsamaneežis toimub lõpp-vaatus. Teos on mõtteavaldus nii Eesti moest, kohalikust kultuurimaastikust kui ka väikeriigi mõttemallidest ja väärtusruumist laiemalt. Mõtteviis, et sihikindlus viib sihile ning ainus kindel viis leida rahulolu ja õnn on nähes vaeva. Teos on justkui palverännak moemekasse, mille võtavad iga-aastaselt ette tuhanded inimesed lootuses lõpuks "pärale" jõuda. Kui lisada eelnimetatutele juurde ka moemaastikul laialt levinud saavutusnälg ning võistlushimu, siis võtab teos ette väikeriigi kultuuritegijate kompleksid ja igapäeva komponendid ning seob need kokku eneseiroonilis-kriitiliseks tervikuks. Kõige pikem, kõige raskem, kõige uhkem – sest nii tegutsedes peaks justkui jõudma kaugele. Mis saab siis kui ihaldatud moepealinna ja metropoli asemel ootab pärast rasket katsumust ees hoopis maakodu? Kui unistused teisenevad, ihaldatu kaugeneb ning kas ja millal lõpeb teekond?
“MANIA GRANDIOSA. From Tallinn to Paris" is the world's longest fashion runway created for nine models for five days, with a total length of 100 km, starting from Tallinn Airport and ending in the village of Pariisi, Lääne-Virumaa at the local equestrian arena. The work is a statement on both fashion, the local cultural landscape, and the ideas of the small country in general. The mindset that determination leads to success and the only sure way to find satisfaction and happiness is through hard work. The performance is like a pilgrimage to the mecca of fashion, which thousands of people undertake every year in the hope of finally reaching "the goal". If we add to the aforementioned the hunger for achievement and the desire for competition that is widespread in the fashion scene, the work takes on the complexes and everyday components of the cultural creatives of a small country and ties them together into a self-ironic-critical whole. The longest, the hardest, the greatest - because by acting like that one should get far. If instead of the fashion capital and metropolis, a country home awaits after a difficult ordeal? What happens when dreams transform, what is desired becomes distant, and if and when the journey ends?
